The Importance of Recycling Correct Materials
To help ensure the success of our single stream recycling program, please put only recyclable items into the cart. The wrong materials can halt the process, harm the equipment and contaminate an entire batch of recyclable products.

Recycle the following items in your blue cart:

  • White and Colored Writing Paper, Computer Paper, Magazines, Newspapers with Inserts
  • Junk Mail
  • Corrugated Cardboard
  • Cereal / Cracker Boxes
  • Phone Books
  • Books (Hard / Soft Covers)
  • Paper Egg Cartons
  • Soda Boxes
  • Milk Cartons / Juice Boxes
  • Brown Paper Bags
Tin or Aluminum Cans (lightly rinsed)
  • Food / Pet Food Cans
  • Soda / Beer Cans
  • Pots and Pans
  • Small Metal Appliances
Plastic (lightly rinsed)
  • Plastic Bottles / Jugs with screw top lid or with a neck smaller than base
  • Two Liter Bottles
  • Milk Jugs
  • Bleach Bottles
  • Plastics  #1 – #7
  • Rigid Plastics (Crates, Hampers, Toys, Furniture)
Small Electronic Waste
  • Cell Phones

Shredded paper is accepted. Please place shredded paper ONLY in a clear plastic bag before putting in cart.

Do NOT put the following items in your blue cart:

  • Hazardous Waste
  • Medical Waste/Needles
  • Light Bulbs
  • Batteries
  • Garbage
  • Food
  • Pizza Boxes
  • Snack Food Bags (Chips / Popcorn Bags)
  • Fast Food Containers, Cups, Wrappers
  • Scrap Metal (Metal Pipe / Hangers / Wires / Auto Parts)
  • Motor Oil Bottles
  • Hot Ashes
  • Concrete / Rocks / Gravel / Wood
  • Yard Waste (Grass / Leaves / Plant Trimmings / Tree Branches / Prunings)
  • Styrofoam / Styrofoam Peanuts

  • Plastic Wrap / Dry Cleaning Bags

Glass is NOT accepted in the curbside recycling program at this time. However, glass jars, beer and wine bottles, baby food jars, and salad dressing jars can be taken to one of 17 City recycling drop-off sites.
